What You Will Learn

  • Master the fundamentals of T1, T3 and SONET.
  • Use a fully operable 1.544 megabit digital facility at each workstation.
  • Build and operate a full end-to-end T1 facility.
  • Create a CO environment, including full interconnect and DSX1 interfaces.
  • See the actual breakout of the channels comprising the T1 data stream.
  • Understand fractional T1 applications, implementation and operation.
  • Evaluate T1 voice and data interface options, applications and performance criteria.
  • Monitor framing and signaling formats, perform voice-to-digital conversion and verify T1 signaling.
  • Learn how LANs interface with T1 facilities.
  • Discuss the technical, financial and operational differences between implementation of Fractional T1, T3 and other WAN and access technologies.
